Welcome to our staff vacancies in the academic sector
The academic sector is organised into four Colleges. Each College is headed by a Deputy Vice-Chancellor and consists of two Faculties which are in turn, each headed by a Dean. There are 56 academic Schools at UKZN.
Academic staff are appointed at various levels. Please take note of the minimum criteria for each level before you apply. Please go to the menu on the left for vacancies in each of our faculties.
Senior Tutor
The candidate should be an experienced and excellent teacher with known success in undergraduate teaching and administration
Lecturer
- Master’s degree or Appropriate Professional Qualification in lieu thereof as approved by UKZN Senate.
- Clear evidence of strength in Teaching, Scholarship and Research or Equivalent Artistic or Creative Activity
Senior Lecturer
- Doctoral degree or a Masters Degree with an appropriate Professional Qualification in lieu of a doctoral degree, as approved by UKZN Senate.
- Clear evidence of strength in Teaching, Scholarship and Research or Equivalent Artistic or Creative Activity
Associate Professor
- Doctoral degree.
- Academic leadership appropriate to this level.
- Clear evidence of strength in Teaching, Scholarship and Research or Equivalent Artistic or Creative Activity
Professor
- Doctoral degree.
- Academic leadership appropriate to this level.
